Sinopsis
Antonio Piedra El Soto, Salamanca, 1948 is director of the Jorge Guillén Foundation, professor at the University of Valladolid and regular member of the Academia Castellano-leonesa de la Poesía. His poetry was published in the following volumes: Del rigor al desatino (1986), Calendario profano (1990), La moneda de Caronte (1995), Argumento de cal (1999), and Edades de la sonante espuma (2001). His most important contribution in terms of poetic renewal concerns the jaiquilla, a stanza inspired by him. As a student of literature, he looks back on a long history of publications books, editions, monographs, articles, etc. ranging from the classical era to more recent authors. As a journalist, he works for various literary supplements and weekly opinion columns. He has been awarded, among other, the Titular Doctorate in 1992, El tesorillo de poesía in 1994, National Award of edition in 1995 and 1998, the Teresa of Ávila National Award for Literary Career in 1999, and the Cuban Carilda Oliver National Award in 2001.
