The controversy «poetry as communication vs. poetry as knowledge» is one of the most relevant theoretical and critical events of Spanish poetry around the 50s of last century. The problem was discussed by poets of different generations, as Juan Ramón Jiménez, Vicente Aleixandre, Carlos Bousoño or Gabriel Celaya, and also by other poets who then began to be known, as Carlos Barral, Jaime Gil de Biedma or Antonio Gamoneda.
