Crónica de una universidad que transforma aims to be a testimony to a way of understanding the university as a public good and at the service of society. In a demanding, accelerated socio-political context that questions the values ¿¿of coexistence with which we have endowed ourselves, universities stand out as essential institutions that generate knowledge to respond to global challenges and that promote critical thinking. The pages of this book cover the years in which Eva Alcón has served as rector of the Universitat Jaume I (2018-2026) and as president of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (2023-2026). An institutional period that also coincided with profound legislative changes, with an unprecedented health crisis such as the pandemic, and with tragedies such as the Danes.
