Sinopsis
José Luis García Martín (Aldeanueva del Camino, 1950) is a poet, writer and literary critic, as well as a professor of literature at the University of Oviedo. He has published over fifty works, including books of poetry, fiction, plays, translations and critical editions, most of them in Spanish, but some also in Asturian language. His importance as a literary critic has overshadowed to some extent his creative work. He is the author of some of the most influential anthologies and studies on contemporary Spanish poetry. Martín Garcías poetry is closely linked to the poetry of experience, the literary trend of which he has certainly been the most representative literary critic. His works abound in references to the literary and cultural tradition. In his early work was very strong the presence of a poetic imagery as well as the atmosphere of marked homoeroticism in the line of Francisco Bejarano or Luis Antonio de Villena. In his most recent works, however, this homoerotic intensity has been disappearing and leaving place to emotional detachment.
