DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF COMPETENCIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION. This book is written in a moment of big changes and of important social and educational reforms, in contexts of Secondary Education as well as in Higher Education, in the European Space of Superior Education (EEES). These changes demand an educational model centered in learning and in the integral formation of students, which implies a change of role for both the teacher as well as for the student, with the consequent rethinking of competencies in Superior Education. The authors contribute the definition, development and evaluation of generic competencies that they propose to develop in the university student. They propose as key competencies, planning of objectives, responsibility, critical thinking, team work, oral communication, creativity and innovation, interpersonal understanding and communication skills, as well as the use of the IT in the search and elaboration of information, the handling of the interculturality in the classroom, negotiation and conflict management.
