Guerras simbólicas

Drawing on the contributions of a range of scholars, this book examines the discourses and counter-discourses surrounding gender-based violence in contemporary audiovisual culture. It offers a broad analysis of the representation of women in films, television series, and broadcast programmes, paying particular attention to the mechanisms through which stereotypes, inequalities, and forms of violence are reproduced, as well as to the strategies that challenge and transform them. Adopting a critical and interdisciplinary perspective, the volume explores the role of audiovisual media as a site of symbolic struggle, capable both of reinforcing discriminatory imaginaries and of fostering new forms of representation and resistance to gender-based violence.
