INTERCULTURALITY, MEDIATION AND COLLABORATIVE WORK - Intercultural education is a great challenge to XXI century society. The contents of this book are thought out so as to connect intimately the theory and the practice of intercultural education, in such a way that not only allows one to reflect on the topic but also and fundamentally, to practise it. The book deals with some consequences of immigration, connected with citizenship rights, racism and its diverse manifestations. It discusses how intercultural education constitutes a fundamental means to develop democratic values, and it makes a brief analysis of the concept and the types of mediation, the mediator's figure and the circumstances that have given rise to the need for intercultural mediation: what these signify and their connection with the educational system. The second part of the book, the most practical, is centred on practical strategies of collaborative work and it includes great number of examples to build groups, to foment communication processes and to analyze and evaluate reality.
