Poemas de Rafael de Cozán

Spanish poet, painter and prose writer, born in 1951 in Tetuán, Morocco. From the age of eleven he lived in Cádiz, where he began his activity first as a painter with various exhibitions and awards, while later he has devoted himself to literature, as a founding member of the literary group Marejada. He was a finalist for the Guernica Novel Prize (Madrid, l979), received special mention of the Elisee Manuscript Novel Award (Seville, l98l), was finalist at the poetry prizes Ricardo Molina of Córdoba and Rafael Montesinos of Seville. He was awarded the Special Prize of Ph.D. from the University of Seville (l985). Seville City Award for doctoral thesis, 1986 for the work Fundamentos históricos de la experimentación poética española, later published with the title Poesa íe imagen. Between 1982 and 2002 he was president of the Andalusian section of the Writers’ Association of Spain. Mario Vargas Llosa Prize of novel, (Murcia 1996) for the book El Corazón de los trapos (Madrid, 1997). He was literary editor of the editorial El Carro de la Nieve, and literary collaborator of several newspapers and media (ABC, Informaciones, Diario 16, Canal Sur).
