Sinopsis

Angel Crespo, (Ciudad Real, July 18, 1926 - Barcelona, December 12, 1995). Poet, essayist, translator and critic of Spanish art. His very complex poetic work cannot be easily assigned to any particular trend, so that critics have found it difficult to frame Crespo in any of the postwar currents. Having presented his first poems in Postismo, later he also covered other phases: that of “magical realism”, “culturalist humanism”, “transcendental humanism” and even a certain “esoteric poetry”. His poetry possesses the very rich sound of someone who had an exceptional musical ear, and was always imaginative and dreamlike. He employs a rich symbolism and feeds since its origins of materials of very different sources: the biographical, the everyday, the cultural tradition and the mythical.
