Sinopsis
One of the most noteworthy aspects of miniatures between the 12th century and the end of the 15th century is what is known as marginalia; the term used to refer to an illustration made in the margin or space between the column or columns of text and the edge of the medium used. This work aims to give a systematic account of the repertoire of motifs used in marginalia by manuscript illuminators working in the lands of the Crown of Castile between ca. 1454 and ca. 1492, the years of the reign of Henry IV of Castile (1454-1474) and the start of the reign of his sister Isabella (1474-1504), which was a period in which this art form flourished.
